It seems that TikTok is everywhere these days. But what is TikTok, how do you get it, and how can you save a video from TikTok to Camera ? In this post we’ll walk you through the steps to do all three!
A few things before we begin
- You’ll need a YouTube or Facebook account in order to save your video.
- If the person who shared the video has their settings private, you won’t be able to grab the link.
- I’ve found videos older than 1 year old won’t work with this trick, so keep that in mind.
Now, let’s get started!
Unsurprisingly, the most popular way to save a video from TikTok is by searching for the hashtag #SaveAPictureVideoToCamera. This hashtag has become so popular that lots of users have posted super helpful info on saving TikTok videos to Camera . For example, a user showed viewers how to write down their username and password since it saves automatically.
But, there is one major flaw to this method: It doesn’t work on videos older than 1 year old. After this date, the person sharing the video will be notified on their account because YouTube and TikTok don’t want people saving videos that don’t belong to them. To get around this, we’ll need to use a third party app.
How To Save A Video From TikTok to Camera Using an App
Android users can download this app called TikTec for free from the Google Play Store. Once you’ve downloaded the app, open it up, then sign in with the account you want to use.
Next, look for the search bar and type “#saveapicturevideo”. Now you should see a list of videos that include this hashtag. Find one that’s already been uploaded to YouTube and click on it.
Once you click on a video click on “Video Save” then “Share Video”, then a box will pop up and ask if you want to save as MP4 or WebM file to Camera.I prefer the MP4 file type for this trick because it’s much easier to work with.
There are 2 options here: You can either save the video and continue to watch it later on your computer, or you can download the file to your smartphone or tablet. You can choose whatever you’d like to do.
That’s all there is to it, the video will now be saved to your phone if you chose “Download” above. Open the video and save it to your Camera Roll.
What About Older Videos?
For older videos, we’ll need to download a third-party app like the one above. After downloading it, you’ll need to sign in to your YouTube or Facebook account so you can use the app’s features.
Once you’re signed in, open up the app and click on “Save Video” from the left menu. Next, use the search bar to find videos from the last year and search for those on YouTube.
Once you find a video you want to save to Camera , click “Download Video” and then “Send” on Android or “Send File” on iOS. Then tap on “Open in…” and choose Camera Roll so you can get access to the downloaded file.
Once you’re in the picture, tap on it and save it to your phone. It should now show up in the list, but if not try going back into YouTube and downloading it again.
